'Their blood is on your hands': veteran confronts Biden on war record

'Their blood is on your hands': veteran confronts Biden on war record (Iraq Veterans Against the War via Storyful)

Former Vice President Joe Biden was confronted by members of the group Iraq Veterans Against the War when he visited Oakland on Super Tuesday, March 3.

Biden had just spoken to a crowd at the Buttercup Diner in Oakland when Air Force veteran Michael Thurman confronted him. Thurman said Biden had “blood on his hands” for his support of the war in Iraq.

Biden responded by referencing his son, Beau, who was deployed to Iraq in 2008 and later died of cancer in 2015, saying: “It matters a lot to me.”

Biden then turned away from Thurman, who continued to shout in the Vice President’s direction as he was escorted away.
